Introduction

About us

Laboratory Introduction

Modern high-tech engineering requires a study of multi-disciplinary research for integrated systems composed of mechanics, electronics, hydraulics, and optics, etc. To meet this ends, it is essential to have a wide knowledge and understanding of the system level technology as well as the unit component level technology such as sensors and actuators.

For this purpose, the main research interests in our lab are focused on design, modeling, analysis, control, and simulation of multi-disciplinary mechatronic systems. There are three research areas; Control of mechatronic systems, Design of sensing/actuating systems and its application, and Analog/Digital signal processing.

Control of dynamics Systems

  • 2 axis nano-stage control with high precision and high speed using a loop shaping control technique
  • Vibration control of a 6 axis active vibration isolation using magnetic actuators and velocity sensors
  • Noncontact velocity sensor using optical interference
  • Lidar based sensing system for 3D distance imaging for autonomous vehicles driving and drone lading
  • Frequency modulated continuous wave(FMCW) sensing system control for 3D shape imaging

Design of sensing/actuating systems and its application

  • A new mobile robot navigation using a turning point searching algorithm with the consideration of obstacle avoidance
  • High precision distance sensor for 3D imaging using camera and Lidar principle
  • Noncontact velocity sensor using optical interference
  • Active vibration isolation system design&control
  • Vibration robust motion profile generation
  • VCM, PZT based power amplifier design

Analog/Digital Signal processing

  • Various modulation techniques development for sensor resolution improvement
  • Vibration robust motion profile generation
  • Analog/Digital signal processing based on frequency analysis
  • Frequency detection using a frequency-to-voltage converter
  • AR/MR based real time camera posture estimation
